Senator The Hon Anne Ruston

So when you make a determination, do you provide the minister with a single recommended amounts, or do you provide alternative pricing scenarios that the minister can choose from?

Prof Michael Pervan

Um under the the direction and under the legislation, we have to provide our price. So that the there's just one number. So we don't say you could go higher or lower.

Senator The Hon Anne Ruston

So it's uh it's uh in this case you provide a 2.55% increase on base ANAC and then you calculates out at two,

Prof Michael Pervan

sorry, Senator, it calculates out at that, but no, it's actually a dollar amount, and then we provide price weights for the different ANAC classes.

Senator The Hon Anne Ruston

So you provide the price weights? Okay. So in terms of that, so you provided the minister with uh $33.19. That was the only price that you provided.

Prof Michael Pervan

That's it's the only one we can provide within the the policy direction.

Senator The Hon Anne Ruston

Policy framework. And that price is based on the government direction in terms of how you need to build the price um on the direction that's in you like three years ago when you first started doing aged care as part of this.

Prof Michael Pervan

What's included and what's excluded?

Senator The Hon Anne Ruston

Yep. Okay, fine. Um so the there was no alternative modelling or alternative could have been requested.

Prof Michael Pervan

No, but I would um happily admit to you that when the price came out and we saw what it was, we QA'd it multiple times and actually got uh an independent agency to come in and QA it as well to make sure that our maths was right.

Senator The Hon Anne Ruston

Yeah. Mass was right within the terms.
