Um so I've also seen a response to a question on notice um uh double two seven in relation to training for NDIA NDIA staff. I just want to double check the figure. The answer states that nearly a million dollars was spent on staff training between 1 January and 31 March this year. Is that correct?

Matthew Swainson

Uh that's correct, Senator. That was for that quarter, that is correct, Senator.

Chris Gatenby

Well, how much was spent on training and development for the whole financial year?

Matthew Swainson

Uh we'll take we'll get that answer for you through the course of the hearing, Senator. Okay.

Chris Gatenby

And do we know how many it would be interesting to know if you've got it, how many staff attended the training?

Matthew Swainson

Uh again, yeah, we'll get we'll get that for you through the course of the hearing.

Chris Gatenby

And can you provide a full list of the training undertaken, the cost of the training and how many staff attended each course, please?

Matthew Swainson

I'm anticipating that's one we might have to provide later. Oh, that would be good. We'll see what we can do through the course of this hearing, Senator.

Chris Gatenby

Thank you. And likewise for the Quality and Safeguards Commission and good afternoon. Um the response to a question on notice 26 ending 264 stated that for the same three-month period that would be uh 1 January to 31 March this year. Um you spent 937,000. Can you provide the same follow-up information? So what the annual expenditure was, how many staff attended training, cost of each course, and how many staff attended each course?

Speaker 40

Senator Lawish and Chief Operating Officer. Uh so for the 25-26 financial year, the total commission spend on staff training and capabilities was 1.7 million or one seven six six three oh seven and sixty cents.

Chris Gatenby

Oh, down to the centre.

Speaker 40

Yes, uh and uh happy to take on notice to give you a breakdown of the categories of type of training and staff that attended.

Chris Gatenby

That'd be great, thank you. Um I'll go back to the NDIA, but I've been made aware of some recent media reports that the NDIA has commenced a redund a voluntary redundancy round. Is that correct?
