Hon Sarah Henderson
>> thank you very much, Chair. Uh look, I go to a couple of issues. Um just first the capacity investment scheme. I just want to clarify document. Uh, so just in relation to the 27 CIS projects that have been withdrawn, can I just get a breakdown on how many will win solar and battery? I just want to confirm that, please. >> Thanks, Senator. >> Thanks, Miss Thanks, Miss Wood. >> Uh, just one moment and I'll find those that information for you. And I'm just looking also for how many of those collapse projects were in New South Wales and how many were in Victoria or whereabouts they were located.
Hon Tim Ayres
>> I think while the official was in their notes, Senator, we did have this exchange before. I know you might insist on saying collapsed projects, but you know that that is not accurate.
Hon Sarah Henderson
>> well, there's no guarantee they're going
Hon Tim Ayres
to be revived. Well,
Hon Sarah Henderson
>> there's no guarantee, Minister. So,
Hon Tim Ayres
don't >> life's life's full of uh no guarantees. Every construction project in the country. >> Every every significant venture requires human effort and work. No, no success is ever guaranteed. Uh but but these projects have not been successful in their bid for CIS support. uh they are either going to um make future bids, engage with the state system or proceed without support. Not all of these ventures will succeed. There is no doubt about that.
Hon Sarah Henderson
>> Sorry, Minister. We've got very very
Hon Tim Ayres
limited time. >> Well, you you use the porative collapse to describe this. >> It's my duty to once again correct you. Uh and >> thank you for confirming there is no
Hon Sarah Henderson
guarantee that these 27 projects will go
Hon Tim Ayres
into that's not what I said, Senator. What I said what I said >> is that is is is precisely what I outlined to you and the way that you characterize this >> was um not uh correct. You know that not to be correct and um if you continue to characterize it that way I'll continue to be forced to do my job.
Hon Sarah Henderson
>> Continue to remind you minister that these none of these 27 projects are guaranteed to go ahead. They've all been withdrawn from this scheme. So if I just could go back to Miss Wiltshire please. Thank you.
Speaker 21
>> Sure senator. Um just in terms your first question was how many of the various categories of projects were withdrawn. So um there was 11 of those
Hon Sarah Henderson
>> So that is this battery >> of the of the withdrawn projects projects. Yes. >> Nine were wind and that's 4.9 gaw and
Speaker 21
seven were solar and that was 1.5 gaw.
Hon Sarah Henderson
And where are they? Where were they located? >> Yeah, I'm just I don't have I thought I don't have a full list of that. I'd have to take that on notice, Senator. They are across the various jurisdictions. I thought I had a complete list of that with me, but I don't. I'm sorry. >> All right. Well, if there's some way that you could bring it back, that would be great. We could come back to you a bit later on. Uh are they ma are they mainly in New South Wales and Victoria? >> Uh they're quite I've got uh they're
Speaker 21
quite mixed. Um I would say across all
Hon Sarah Henderson
>> right? So right across Australia. >> Okay. And u were these projects withdrawn because they bid too low? because I'm ask some senator I think as various various different reasons that I outlined earlier while why they withdrew
Speaker 21
some some um I think as as my colleagues have outlined that the um the landscapes changed and some bid too low and they have bid into our subsequent tenders. There were other projects that ultimately weren't able to get access to the network. Some had were in a situation where they had received a power purchase agreement or an offer for weren't viable in that regard. They need to find a new PPA. Uh some had delays to um things like environmental approvals uh just broader sort of changes in pro project circumstances. Um and in some
Hon Sarah Henderson
varied. >> And how many of those withdrawn projects were from each tender? Are you able to break down? Yes. By tender?
Speaker 21
Um so I can give you for each tender. So for the South Australian Victoria trial tender there was one project tender one there was eight tender two there was two tender three there is five tender four there is six tender 7 there is two and tender eight there is three
Hon Sarah Henderson
>> all right well if you could provide that additional information I'm seeking on notice including a breakdown of the 27 projects and
