costs for the yearWhat was the original budget
Ben Sladic
4674500?
Senator Paul Scarr
Okay so that's a I mean that's a material overspend very material overspend maybe 30%what's 135 million dollars? What's the reason for the employee cost to exceed the budget?
Ben Sladic
It comes down to I think um and we updated this in in the budget documentation post that original budget the split between suppliers and employees was a quite a bit different to our actualexpenses that we incurred and so um I think if you look at the um the the um the the split for um future financial years it's much closerto the actual that we realise I think we had more in suppliers than we're actually spending and less in employees so I think it's only slightly higher than what we actually spent theprevious financial year.So that it was understated from a split level in the in the budget documentation compared to what we're actually spending so that was the main reason.
Senator Paul Scarr
So my understanding is the and tell me if I'm wrong correct me please that it was an increase of $21 million on last year is that correct?
Ben Sladic
Yep I think that that sounds about correct.
Senator Paul Scarr
certainly so it becks the question right the the budget's greater than it was last year or the actual is greater than it was last year but there are fewer staff so how do youexplain that?
