Hon James McGrath

>> Yes. Senator LRA, thank you. Can I go back to the um questions that I was asking before in relation to uh the ferry network in Perth, please? I I think I just probably need to re rework the question I put to you in relation to the the $10 million. What activities are intended to be funded by that $10 million for future planning works? So the $10 million one. >> Sure.

Melony Czajor

So that will deliver planning works to explore potential potential future ferry stops um at a number of sites and some of the sites include um Mland's Clays Claysbrook, Optus Stadium, uh Berswood

Hon James McGrath

>> and none of the $10 million going I think it was from an answer from I think from from Miss Hall the none of the money has been paid yet. So the $10 million has not been paid. when in the federation funding agreement schedule would the $10 million be due to >> So there's no established milestones between the state government and the and the comworth government? is the WA government required to make a co-contribution towards the planning and design of future network extensions or will the Commonwealth be solely funding these activities? And I note the previous answer in terms of 50/50 um uh split here, but is in terms of my question, will the state government be matching the $10 million from the Commonwealth with $10 million for themselves >> in this particular area?

Melony Czajor

>> So not for the senators. So [cough and clears throat] the whole project is 120 million with a 50/50 co-contribution due to eligibility. uh WA's contribution will be going to some things that the Australian government can't fund under the National Land Transport Act. So the $10 million will be fully funded by the Australian

Hon James McGrath

>> Okay. Uh I think maybe has a completion date been agreed for the planning and design funded through the $10 million allocation.

Melony Czajor

Not that I have with me today, Senator, but I can take that on notice.

Hon James McGrath

>> Thank you. Um, last year when questions were being asked about this project, the department confirmed that no work was done on this project prior to its announcement as an election commitment. Has the department since evaluated the WA government's business case? >> Okay. So, you have when when did you receive the business case from the WA government? >> Okay. Um and that would have been from the business case would have been from the WA government. Yes. >> Yes. Um and again I think the business King. So I can't talk like I could talk with dates. I just can't >> I'm only asking about dates. So we're doing a dance here at the moment. Um and if you could take on notice when the when the business case was finalized by the WA government. Um, prior to the announcement of the election commitment, had there been a request to the department from the WA government for funding for the ferry

Melony Czajor

>> I don't have that information with me, Senator, but I I could take it on

Hon James McGrath

>> Miss Hall, would you

Jessica Hall

>> I honestly can't remember. Um, so I'll have to take that on notice myself.

Hon James McGrath

Right. Can I now go um back across the continent? I think thank you to questions to do with uh the Middleton Drive extension and the M7 underpass
