Senator Ross Cadell
>> Fair enough. Um at the May hearing, secretary said the grow growing costrecovery revenue let DAFF employ morestaff. How many positions have beenfunded by revenue of the expenses?
Matthew Geysen
Don't know whether I'll have a breakdownsenator of the actualexact staffing because our corporatestaff are attributed. So you'll havedirect directly allocated staff that areperforming the regular
Senator Ross Cadell
>> FTE and stuff like that
Matthew Geysen
>> and then you'll have an attribution ofthe corporate. So I might not have
Senator Ross Cadell
>> I have an FDA equivalent. I have anotherthat's fine. What
Matthew Geysen
>> um I might have to take on notice unlessI might have to take that on notice,Senator, just because of the attributionof those corporate staff to give you theright amount that are supported by thecost recovery revenue funded by
Senator Ross Cadell
I'm just going through all thesequestions and ruling out the ones Iyou mentioned about the revenue growthhas been through growth and and incontent number and and sheer size.Do you have an example? Not an example.I don't want you to pick them. A isthere a basket case that you publish onlike what's the TEU of certain thingscost over the last three years? Are welooking at year-on-year growth? What'swhat's the year-on-year growth thatyou've given for each last three yearson standard import things, standard
Matthew Geysen
>> That might be adjusting.>> Yeah, I think so. I I think that mightbe we might have to get some assistancefrom our bio security colleagues on theactual the specific breakdowns of thevolumes and where that growth ishappening.
Senator Ross Cadell
>> Yeah, just just to confirm that the theprices aren't going up by the samepercentage is it is the volumes that youspoke about that would be good.>> Um you mentioned that and the ANO saysmonthly cost reports now go to theexecutive board in part of the costwhat are they saying for this 3 monthsof uh this financial year? Are we stillover is it still over recovery or whatare we doing there?
Matthew Geysen
>> Uh Senator, I'd say we're broadly in abreak even position noting that in thein the bio security space. Um we aregoing through our midyear budget reviewprocess at the moment to make sure wecontinue um to ensure that we budget fora break even position and have the fundscorrectly allocated. Um and in theexport space uh we do have a deficitposition but that is where the fundinghas been provided by government to tosupplement or offset that deficit.
Senator Ross Cadell
>> Um since 24 you've have you trieddifferent models since the withdrawal?I'm here you've tried three differentsorry reviewed its charging model threetimes since 24 and then ran a costingpilot. Is that true?
Matthew Geysen
>> It is Senator. So those just for forclarity those reviews were for um theybuilt on each other. So they werelooking at for example we one of thereviews focused on PEQ or post entryquarantine um down in Miklham and how weattribute the costs across the differentum animals uh and activities that aresupported through PEQ.We're now going through a process wherewe where you reference the pilot whichis an activity based costing process. Sothat's a rolling program where we leaninto a certain process costed in detailreflect back and say is the price beingcharged right is the effort beingallocated correctly and that is going tobe an ongoing program of work and that'swhere the secretary referenced beforearound business process level ortracking at that next level. That'swhere we're going into that additionaleffort to say do we think we'reefficient? Are we charging the right
