>> Yeah, go for it. The call still yours.

Malcolm Roberts

>> My question is to the availability of RAAF based Tindle for emergency landing of commercial aircraft. Commercial airlines are required to lodge a commercial flight plan which includes the location of emergency landing strips and shows the plane has the fuel to get My office has received information that Tindle has advised airlines it should not be used as a designated emergency landing airport at the top end requiring all airlines to carry extra fuel to reach cans. This makes tickets dearer planes heavier while increasing the risk for air travelers. What guidance has been given to commercial airlines on this matter please?

Speaker 23

>> Senator good afternoon Marshall Steve Chapel chief of air force. uh I'm not um across that particular matter in detail. So let me take that on notice and I'll come back to you. Malcolm Roberts

>> Thank you. And if I can just clear up um the question is not whether you'd allow an emergency landing, which of course you would.

Interjection

>> Correct.

Malcolm Roberts

>> That's not the question. The question is, are domestic airlines allowed to fly file a flight plan showing Tindle as the emergency landing point in the top end?

Speaker 23

>> I understand the question. I'll take it on notice. Thanks.

Malcolm Roberts

>> Thank you very much. Thank you, chair.

Raff Ciccone
