capacity and for each of the last fouryears and year to date how many has itconducted in each year?
Dr Caralee McLiesh
So we have had to reduce the size of ourperformance audit program uh owing to uhto resource constraints. Uh in 2022 23um we had uh uh a target of uh of um 48performance audits. Um but we havelowered that target down to 38 to 42 uhperformance audits per year. uh thoseare so around 40 audits to cover um theentire public sector. Um as a result ofthe reduction in the overall size of theprogram, we now typically conduct umaround two climate change audits out ofthat um total of 40. So we seek toselect um audits on the basis of uh ofrisk and um the ability to to impact toum to to to add value um to a topic. Butwe cannot cover um all uh governmentactivity. We need to uh need toprioritize our our efforts.

>> So that would be 20 years at two a two ayear, wouldn't it? If you were just tofocus on 40 programs,
Dr Caralee McLiesh
>> it would take us a long time to coverall of those uh programs. Senator, Iwould just um highlight that we do havedollar values for some of theinitiatives in uh the uh the the reportthat we prepared, but that was really onthe basis of the uh the the data onexpenditure that was um that waspublicly available. Not all initiativeshad u publicly available expendituredata. Uh, and I'd also just um highlightthat I think right now the mostcomprehensive tracker of um governmentclimate policies is the um climatechange authorities climate policytracker. They last updated their uh listin 2025 and that um lists over 430policies and actions uh and has linksthrough to uh agency descriptions ofthose initiatives.
